HRH CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE SUPPORTS THE HEARING IMPAIRED AND EARLY TESTING

HRH Crown Princess Katherine, together with the Royal Hearing Screening Committee, once again highlighted the importance of raising awareness of the serious challenges the hearing impaired face on a daily basis.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine also stressed the importance of early detection and diagnosis in the young, together with providing support to all who are afflicted, as being of the highest importance.

In Serbia, more than 70,000 people use sign language as their primary method of communication. Crown Princess Katherine and the Royal Hearing Screening Committee, whose founder is Her Royal Highness, continue to stress the importance of the utilization of screening equipment in all maternity hospitals per early detection and intervention.

To assist with these endeavors, Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Canada, whose Patron is HRH Crown Princess Katherine, are hosting an event on October 14, 2023 to raise funds for this important cause.  Through such generous donations, The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation can continue to actively deliver hearing screening equipment to hospitals in Serbia and in Republika Srpska.

Also, in collaboration with Dr. Daniel Djuraskovic Megler and Ms. Ardis J. Gardella, President of The Holley Institute of Detroit, Michigan, The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation successfully organized trips for hearing impaired children from Serbia to a special camp in Detroit, which provided attendees with enriching learning experiences.
