CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE CONTINUES HELPING SERBS IN KOSOVO AND METOHIJA

Belgrade 22 May 2023 – HRH Crown Princess Katherine and Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago, whose patron is Her Royal Highness, continue to provide support to Serbs living in difficult conditions in Kosovo and Metohija.

Aware of the challenges and difficulties faced by socially vulnerable families in the southern Serbian province, Crown Princess Katherine and Lifeline Chicago assisted Serbian families in the Lipljan municipality by delivering much-needed humanitarian aid packages.

Thanks to an incredibly generous donation to Lifeline Chicago from The Estate of Mr. Nikola Maric, twenty families (including forty-six children) from the villages of Suvi Do, Gornja Gušterica, Donja Gusterica, Batuse, Gracanica, Ugljare, Kuzmina, Laplje Selo, Dobrotin, and Susica received critically-needed food packages containing essential food supplies to assist the families for a number of months.

Hygiene bags, school backpacks, coloring books, crayons, balls, toys, and blankets were also delivered to the children of this municipality thanks to the donors and benefactors of Lifeline Chicago.

In addition, thanks to the continued and dedicated support of the Three Kolo Group – The Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. George of Joliet, Illinois, The Circle of Serbian Sisters Kneginja Zorka of Lansing, Illinois, and The Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. Archangel Michael of Lansing, Illinois - the children from the Sveta Srbija judo and athletic club from Koretiste (of the municipality of Gnjilane) were gifted with 80 sweets packages for support and encouragement of their efforts in furthering their athletic endeavors.

“I am very grateful to all the big-hearted donors who, with their generosity, supported the work of Lifeline Chicago and my Foundation in Belgrade, and helped us make this donation reach those who need it most – the Serbs who live in unimaginably difficult conditions in Kosovo and Metohija. It is hard for me because I know how many difficulties the Serbs in our Kosovo struggle with every day, and it always makes me happy when we can help them. That is why we must not and cannot stop.

I appeal to everyone to help our people overcome the difficult days and challenges they face every day as much as possible. My husband, Crown Prince Alexander, and I are always there for the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, to help whenever we can, and they are always in our thoughts, our hearts, and prayers," said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
