CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE AND LIFELINE CHICAGO CONTINUE ASSISTING SCHOOL IN MRAMORAK

Belgrade, 4 March 2024 - Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago and The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation continue to provide much-needed support to The Sava Maksimovic Elementary School in the village of Mramorak in Kovin municipality of Serbia. A generous donation from Mrs. Nada Stevens, in memory of her late husband, Mr. David Stevens made it possible to support the musical talents of the children at this school.

In the previous school year, the orchestra of the Sava Maksimovic Elementary School won first place at the 23rd Annual National Competition of Orchestras of Elementary Schools and Primary Music Schools in Serbia, getting the maximum score of 100 points and proudly taking home the Laureate title. The members of this school orchestra are so happy and thankful for this donation and view it as a reward for their years of dedication and hard work and as motivation to continue their educational development in music.

The following brand new instruments and items were purchased for the school with this donation:  6 cymbals, 5 kalimbas, 3 drums, 5 pairs of drum sticks, 5 rattles, 8 maracas, 8 guiros, 2 glockenspiels with stands, 6 harmonicas, one picture, one poster, miscellaneous office supplies and accessories, 20 board games, and 228 books for the school library (81 in Serbian and 147 in English).

Also, in memory of and as a loving tribute to her late husband, Mrs. Nada Stevens gifted to the school a violin that belonged to David Stevens.

This most recent donation is a continuation of support to The Sava Maksimovic Elementary School, as Lifeline Chicago and The HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation completely renovated and fully equipped two classrooms at this school in November of 2023, an endeavour which was crucial in providing the children with quality learning experience and enhancing the development of their musical, artistic, and computer skills, and which was also made possible by the generous donation of Mrs. Nada Stevens.

"I am very grateful to Mrs. Nada Stevens, who, through this donation, has given children the opportunity to expand their knowledge, develop new interests, and pursue their dreams. Thanks to Lifeline Chicago and my Foundation in Belgrade, children from this school should know that we always think of them. We will continue helping our schools, as our children deserve every possible support to achieve their full potential,” said HRH Crown Princess Katherine.

Mrs. Ljiljana Krničanin, the Principal of The Sava Maksimovic Elementary School in the village of Mramorak, expressed sincere gratitude to HRH Crown Princess Katherine, Mrs. Nada Stevens, and Lifeline Chicago on behalf of the teachers and pupils of this school for their tremendous help.
